Pinkeye Studio: A Multidisciplinary Design Space

A Unique Blend of Creativity and Functionality

The inspiration behind Pinkeye Studio's office design is rooted in childhood memories of building treehouses. The interior combines design elements with a no-nonsense approach, resulting in a space that is both playful and functional. The raw pinewood struts that support the walls and the perfectly curved openings create a sense of sacredness, giving the entire space a unique atmosphere.

The central element of the design is a dividing wall that runs the length of the workspace. Clad in diagonally framed wooden beams, this wall creates structure and atmosphere, while also providing a framework for several more intimate spaces. Half-moon shaped cutouts serve as windows, revealing private work areas within the open office.

Pinkeye Studio's design philosophy is reflected in the choice of materials. The original warehouse tiles, painted white, form the floor, while the walls are adorned with diagonally framed pinewood cladding. The ceiling, made of original warehouse concrete, is also painted white, creating a cohesive and clean aesthetic. The lighting, provided by Dark and Prolicht, adds a touch of sophistication to the space, while the furniture from Vitra, ICF, and vintage pieces adds character and style.

One of the main challenges in this design was creating intimate spaces within the communal working area that would encourage collaboration and idea exchange. Pinkeye Studio successfully achieved this by incorporating smaller workstations and strategically placed private rooms, inviting employees to step away from their desks and engage with their colleagues.

The design of Pinkeye Studio's office began in January 2012 and was completed in November of the same year. The construction process was meticulously executed to bring the vision to life. The result is a space that is inviting, professional, and casual, reflecting the studio's ethos and encouraging creativity.

This exceptional design has been recognized with the prestigious A' Design Award. The Silver A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category is a testament to the studio's outstanding expertise and innovation.
